Medina County Juvenile Court offers specialized services that implement evidence-based solutions and closely monitors progress. We also offer treatment and monitoring methods that have been resourced and proven to work.

All juvenile programming is operated by the Court.

Juvenile Drug Court

This new way to treat juvenile drug offenses in Medina County began in 2004. DC combines substance abuse and mental health treatment, court supervision, case management, and community support to rehabilitate young offenders.

Community Service

Juveniles may receive an order of community service for their offense. This is an organized time in which labor is provided to public agencies.

Family Resource Court (FRC)

FRC targets young juveniles who are truant or commit status offenses. The FRC implements intensive probation and case management in effort to identify family concerns, needs and mental health issues.

Teen Intervention-180 (Ti-180)

The intent of the Ti-180 is to provide early intervention for adolescent substance abuse, increase resiliency, and provide parents with education about the warning signs of substance abuse.

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP)

EAP is an emerging field in which horses are used as a tool for emotional growth and learning. EAP is a collaborative effort between a licensed mental health therapist and a horse professional.

Multi-Systemic Therapy (MST)

MST is a family, home-based treatment that tries to change how youth function in their natural settings. Natural settings include home, school and neighborhood. A clinician operates in the home to promote positive social behavior while decreasing antisocial behavior.

Teen Court

Advised by Magistrate Sue Lewis. Teens hear cases and participate in the juvenile process.
